Well hello there! Where have I been for the last 11 days, one might ask… Busy. As. Hell. Working at a salon as a hairstylist in the weeks leading up to Christmas is downright exhausting! Late nights lead to early mornings and vice versa. My job is very rewarding and I love to make people happy but the month of December brings on tiring evenings, sore joints and backaches (but also back rubs from the best husband ever!). This didn’t give me much time at all to catch up on my blog, so sadly it was put on the back burner for a little while. We are almost back to regularly scheduled programming as soon as the new year begins.
I hope everyone had as lovely as a Christmas as I did! Keeping up with traditions and enjoying your time spent with your loved ones is what it’s all about (in my book). One thing we are good at in our family is keeping up with traditions. We did this Christmas morning as we’ve done every Christmas morning for the last 33 years. We had Christmas morning together with my mom and dad, digging out goodies from our stockings that Santa stuffed, enjoying mimosas (ok, this one just started 4 years ago) and sitting around the Christmas tree passing out gifts and enjoying the smiles on everyone’s faces, followed by an amazing breakfast of some sort (usually an omelette type casserole) cooked up by my mother. I look forward to Christmas morning every year. It is my absolute favorite part of Christmas. So much so, where I have even mentioned here before, that I continued to sleep over at my parents house every Christmas Eve for years even after I had moved out.
We had another successful and maybe the best Christmas morning yet this year. My Aunt and Uncle made it into town again for the holiday as they do most years. We also invited our ‘Uncle’ Monty over and had 5 pups enjoy the morning with us. We do not expect for my parents to be living in this house that we grew up in this time next year so we really relished in it all, took our time unwrapping every last gift and took everything in as much as we could.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, from my family to yours!
