I Confess… I am in love with my new Canon Rebel DSLR. This camera has been a game changer. There is so much to learn about these camera’s that they can be overwhelming. I’ve been working on educating myself and becoming familiar enough with it so I can show my husband how to use it as well. It is a great addition to our family and to this blog of course. For as long as I can remember I have always had an interest in photography and even took a class in high school. I’ve owned point and shoot camera’s most of my ‘adult’ life and this is my first ‘professional’ camera. My late cousin, David, was big into photography and used a Canon 10D. I remember him taking beautiful photos and always had his camera on him whenever he came to visit us. When he passed away, my mom ended up with his camera. I didn’t know anything of this until I told her my interest in purchasing my own DSLR. She has had this camera for almost 2 years now and it has been packed away. I now use 2 of his lenses (a 50mm and a 28-135mm), a couple of filters, a tripod, and an external flash. As cool as a guy I thought he was, we were never really close. He grew up with my grandparents in North Carolina and I grew up in Miami. We were also 12 years apart in age. But in a strange way, because I am now using his camera equipment (getting a little personal here) that he once so fondly took care of and enjoyed himself, I feel like I’m sort of bonding with him over our same interest and hobby and it’s a really cool feeling.
I Confess… I went to see the latest Hunger Games movie with my mom and sister this past weekend as we always do when they are released. Though they really enjoyed the movie, I really wasn’t blown away. I absolutely adore Jennifer Lawrence though and I’m excited to see her latest film, Joy, that opens Christmas day.
I Confess… Monday I became a Market Partner for the hair care company, Monat, which you can read about here. At time’s I feel that I put so much on my plate that it can be difficult to keep up with everything. I like to keep busy though and keep my brain moving so I enjoy challenges. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this company is going and where it can take me (and my hair). Also, it goes along perfectly with my career where I can introduce it to so many others.
I Confess… I have been watching Christmas movies almost daily as well as listening to Christmas music constantly. I feel as though I can never get enough of the holiday season and it always ends as quickly as it comes so I take advantage of it to the fullest.
I Confess… This upcoming weekend it going to be a whirlwind. I have taken Saturday off due to the fact that we will be attending my sister’s graduation. I am beyond proud of her and I know how hard she has worked towards this. I can’t wait to see her walk across the stage to get pick up her diploma. Then on Sunday afternoon we have our holiday work party with the salon. The whole salon gets together at our boss’ house and everyone brings a dish and some form of
alcoholic drinks. We play a gift exchange game that has always been a big hit and just have a great time with each other.
I Confess… I am pretty stoked that I was 1 of the 3 winners for Plucky In Love‘s and One To Nothin’s November Instagram Photo Challenge, #PluckyToNothin. I got to become familiar with a lot of other cool IGers and talented bloggers and I look forward to ‘meeting’ more in upcoming photo challenges!
