1- Disney World
We are planning our first ‘family trip’ to Disney World in January. Glenn and I have been together going on 2 ½ years now and he, Hunter and I have yet to take a trip together. Glenn says he hasn’t even been to Disney since he was a small kid and I haven’t been since grad night Senior year. I freaking love Disney! I am so excited for this trip together! We are planning on doing a 4-day 4-park pass. This includes The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios (in which I’ve never been to Epcot or Animal Kingdom). Hollywood Studios was alright last time I went (which was eons ago) but I love The Magic Kingdom. Living in Florida, you’d think I would have been to these parks several times throughout my life but I’ve only ever been to Disney 4 times. I’m going to be that kid in the park that makes a mad dash to The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean (my faves). They have added so much since I was there last and I just can’t wait to check it all out! This will be our Christmas gift to each other this year and what a gift it will be!
2- North Carolina
We have a house up in the mountains in the south-western side of North Carolina in a town called Brevard. It’s about an hours drive from Asheville. This house was built by Glenn’s grandparents about 40 years ago and was left for him to inherit. Glenn spent every summer at this house with his grandparents as a child. Crazy thing is, my grandparents relocated from Miami to Hendersonville, NC a few years before I was born which is only the next town over from Brevard. I took a road trip up to Hendersonville every summer of my own childhood years with my family. Though I was in the next town over, we visited Brevard almost daily. We would picnic in Pisgah National Forest and eat ice cream at Dolly’s which is literally minutes from Glenn’s family home. We ate at the same restaurants, hiked the same trails, slid down Sliding Rock… Who’s to say we didn’t ‘bump’ into each other at some point. Needless to say, we both refer to this town as ‘home’. We haven’t been to the house since January of 2015 and we are both dying to go back. Between mid-2015 and this year with all the wedding planning, our wedding, and the honeymoon we just never had a chance to get up there again. This will definitely be on 2016’s agenda!

I haven’t been down to Key West in about 3 years. My husband who was born and raised in Miami has never been! I’m not quite sure how that one happened, but it has and I feel that it is my responsibility to get him down there! It’s only a 2 ½ hour, drive straight south. It’s one road in/one road out. This road is called Overseas Highway and it is one absolutely beautiful drive. You have water on either side of you and amazing views all around. You also enjoy all the stops on the way down for awesome seafood and great drinks! Just a quick weekend trip and you’ll get so much enjoyment from the Florida Keys.

This past May for our honeymoon we had done a Sandals resort in Jamaica. This was both our first Sandals experience and we were absolutely blown away! I was so impressed with Sandals. Everything from the food to the employees. They really just make you feel like you are first class guests. I knew from this trip that I had really wanted to do another Sandals trip and St. Lucia has been on my mind. Only thing is, we have been saving and putting money aside to buy a house next year. Though I had really wanted to do this, we might have to put it off for a little while. Though St. Lucia might not make the agenda we could still stick to the Caribbean and go to Bimini instead. Bimini is a small island in the Bahamas. To get there, you take a 3-hour ferry ride from the port of Miami, stay for 2 nights and head back. I did this with a few of my girlfriends for my bachelorette party earlier this past March and had an absolute blast. It’s pretty cheap and a lot of fun, You’re still off on a beautiful Caribbean Island at a fraction of the cost. The whole time I was out there all I thought was how much Glenn would enjoy being out here so that’s another one on my list I’d like to share with him.

5-A Camping Trip
I have been dying to go on a camping trip for years now. I haven’t been camping since I was in the 7th grade. I don’t even care where we go. I want to do the tent, the sleeping bags (on an air mattress of course), the fire, and the cookout. Pretty much everything that comes along with it. Only thing is, in Florida it’s almost ‘hot’ year round and I would only want to go in the cooler months. This is a small window between January and February. I just hope that we can squeeze in a camping trip one of those weekends. I will have to keep you posted on how this all goes!
Where do you all want to go next year?
